The way the mother goes from a calm explanation to a creepy Nietzsche style nihilistic nightmare.

The way the kid just stops her in the middle of her rambling to remind her about the birthday party.

And the fact that you can technically see what's coming before it actually shows up.

It was actually made for TV airing so it makes sense(?)
