I really like this. I haven't seen a lot of games with this kind of concept or execution.

Great use of "1 bit" art, too!

FodderLabs responds:

Thanks for playing!

Glad you enjoyed the concept and execution! :D

And we are big fans of 1 bit art! (Was also part of the 1-Bit Jam for the original version of the game.)

I really like this one.

It reminds me of an old DOS game or something.

noobworkshop responds:

Thanks! I was really inspired by old arcade games on this one
:)

Post-Apocalyptic Cat Simulator

The graphics are simple but they look pretty nice.

The level design (which I guess is procedural generation?) is good but sometimes environments will render in ways that make it impossible to reach the fish.

The jumping feels good but the way the platform clinging is implemented feels a bit weird and could be improved upon.

Overall I like it.

noobworkshop responds:

Post-Apocalyptic Cat Simulator... i like it! :)

Yea sometimes the fish is hard to reach but u can unlock double jump after you finish the first level (and collected enough fish).

Thanks alot for the feedback and like! <3

This is a cute little game. Well made. I especially like the Squid's Ink attack.

Omael responds:

Thanks DreamHollow, I m happy that you liked it.

I'm sorry to tell you, but someone has already done a remarkably similar game concept to this and it was done a bit better.

I appreciate the work you put into it but it just doesn't impress in the same way.

I did like the research point system though, that's at least a bit different.

IndivisibleParticles responds:

Thanks for your feedback. Do you have any suggestions on what would make the game a bit better and more enjoyable?

First phase seems extremely easy.
Second phase really wakes you up.
By the time you get to the phases past that, you start to realize just how hard this fight is really going to be.

badpiggy responds:

Hey, thanks for playing man :)

It's a little simplistic.

I like the concept a lot, just being a lone turret that's shooting enemies that appear.

The problem is that the enemies are hardly a threat. Not only that, there is no obvious goal for your endgame. Players love their checkpoints and goals; even just small ones.

I look forward to seeing you add more elements that make the game more dynamic.

MessagedGames responds:

One goal is to unlock every skin in the game the other is when I add it, which will be: Bosses.

Players will have to fight bosses along the way too which will make the game far more difficult.

One of my favorite games on here. I just wish the camera was more functional; half the time I found myself scrolling down the web page.

Frenchie14 responds:

If you go full screen (blue button under the game) then you shouldn't have that problem! Glad you otherwise enjoyed it! :D

You're too hard on yourself.

It's a pretty barebones concept, sure, but it's got some nice gameplay.
I really like the idea of using score to shoot, except that without any warning it can mess you up pretty bad in the early game if you don't realize it.

I don't think the "Buddy" feature did anything at all. I only tried a couple of the weapons but Buddy didn't seem to do anything special.

I think you could make some of the early enemies slowly ramp up in difficulty, too. They're so easy for roughly 6 or so waves, then they get a lot harder right after the boss. It's kind of like practicing against a target range before going up against an elite squadron or something.

Anyway good game, but please look into those things I mentioned.

IbimsKlausi responds:

Thank you so much for the great feedback :)

I'll have a look at the things you mentioned

I like the unique style of health bar. The transition from pure white to slimy green was a nice touch.

I have a few gripes about the spike hitboxes; they're kind of large. Large enough to kill the player even when the player isn't technically touching them. That's annoying.

Would have really liked the ability to speed up or skip dialogue.

VascoF responds:

The hitboxes are actually not as big as they seem (they're the size of the spike image), but when colliding from the side while jumping it gives the impression that they're bigger.

Anyway, they were definitely still too big, so I've made an update with the hitboxes smaller. Ability to skip dialogue will probably be added tomorrow. Thanks for the review.

I have no idea what I'm doing anymore.
